Ronald Defeo SR believed he was hearing divine sounds and voices from "God", which told him to do all kinds of crazy stuff like hurt his family, put shrines up outside his house months before the massacre happened in Amityville 1974 . He had a "Devil" on his back, meaning Ronald Butch Defeo Jr his son and heard house was evil, no one can explain how and why murders happened, or people in that house hearing voices.
