WHY DO YOU STILL FEED THE BEAST? Part Six — Builders and Destroyers

WHY DO YOU STILL FEED THE BEAST?

Part Six — Builders and Destroyers

By Reverend Michael Cook, D.Div.

Every person who has ever lived has contributed something to the world.

Some have built.

Others have destroyed.

Some have left behind hope.

Others have left behind fear.

Some have planted gardens.

Others have left only ashes.

The question has never been whether we will influence the world.

The question has always been:

What kind of influence will we leave behind?

Every morning we awaken with two opportunities before us.

We can become builders.

Or we can become destroyers.

There is no middle ground.

Every thought we think...

Every word we speak...

Every action we take...

Is laying another stone in the world our children will someday inherit.

A builder understands something the destroyer never learns.

Building takes time.

Destroying takes only moments.

A building that required years of planning can be demolished in a single afternoon.

A friendship nurtured for decades can be destroyed by one careless decision.

A family can spend generations establishing trust, only to lose it through pride, selfishness, or hatred.

Destruction is always the easier path.

Creation requires patience.

This is why the Beast always prefers destruction.

It whispers...

"Tear them down."

"Humiliate them."

"Get even."

"Make them suffer."

The Beast finds pleasure in division because divided people are easier to control by fear.

Builders hear a different voice.

They ask,

"How can I help?"

"How can I heal?"

"How can I encourage?"

"How can I leave this place better than I found it?"

These are the questions that build civilizations.

Look throughout history.

Every great advancement began because someone chose to build rather than destroy.

Someone built hospitals.

Someone built schools.

Someone built libraries.

Someone built places of worship.

Someone built homes.

Someone built bridges that connected people instead of separating them.

The world you enjoy today exists because countless people decided their lives would contribute something lasting.

Now it is our turn.

Many people believe building only refers to physical things.

But some of the greatest builders never laid a single brick.

A teacher builds confidence.

A parent builds character.

A friend builds trust.

A mentor builds wisdom.

A volunteer builds hope.

An encouraging word may strengthen someone for years.

One conversation filled with compassion can redirect an entire life.

One act of forgiveness can heal a family.

Builders understand that not every structure is made of stone.

Some are built from kindness.

Some are built from patience.

Some are built from truth.

Some are built from love.

The strongest foundations are invisible.

They exist within the human heart.

This is where the Beast struggles the most.

It cannot understand why someone would forgive instead of seeking revenge.

It cannot understand why someone would serve without expecting recognition.

It cannot understand why someone would love when hatred seems easier.

The Beast sees weakness.

The Light sees strength.

Real strength has never been measured by how many people fear you.

Real strength is measured by how many people become stronger because you entered their lives.

Ask yourself today...

Am I building peace...

Or spreading conflict?

Am I building hope...

Or spreading despair?

Am I building understanding...

Or encouraging division?

Every answer shapes the future.

Some people spend their lives asking,

"What can the world do for me?"

Builders ask a different question.

"What can I leave behind that will make the world better?"

Imagine if every person committed to building just one thing every day.

Build someone's confidence.

Build someone's courage.

Build someone's faith in humanity.

Build someone's smile.

Build someone's dream.

Build someone's future.

These may seem like small things.

Yet every great cathedral begins with one stone.

Every mighty oak begins with one seed.

Every peaceful society begins with one compassionate heart.

Never believe your contribution is too small.

The smallest candle still pushes back darkness.

The smallest seed can become a mighty tree.

The smallest act of kindness can echo through generations.

The Beast destroys because it cannot create.

The Light creates because it cannot help but give.

So choose carefully what you build.

Long after your possessions are forgotten...

Long after your titles disappear...

Long after your accomplishments fade...

The lives you helped build will continue speaking for you.

That is your true legacy.

The world has enough destroyers.

What it desperately needs...

Is more builders.

Peace, Light, and Understanding to All.
